Low Air Loss (LAL) Surfaces provide ideal pressure care management and are congruous with the healing of chronic pressure ulcers. By managing factors that affect pressure ulcer formation through proprietary air management systems, these powered or non-powered surfaces offer modular product offerings where one surface can serve several levels of care.

LAL support surfaces achieve these various levels of pressure care management by mitigating ulcer forming factors such as shear, friction, moisture, and heat buildup that cause tissue degradation, an unstable microclimate, and minimized blood flow. The removal of excess heat and moisture reduces the likelihood of skin maceration, while climate control adjustment optimizes patient comfort within a therapeutic range. These LAL support surfaces have the ability to redistribute a patient's weight evenly over pressure controlled areas while accurately controlling the rate of air exchange to achieve an ideal microclimate.

The high performance protective covers offer excellent durability to the penetration of bodily fluids and other contaminates while the functional textiles and laminate constructions offer extremely high vapor transmission for reduced skin temperature and humidity.
